Pre-dental and pre-doctoral students from the Southeast gathered Jan. 11–13 in Asheville, North Carolina, for a weekend of education and networking during the District 4 American Student Dental Association Annual Meeting. District 4 leaders invited North Carolina AGD members Drs. Allison and Callan White to speak about their dental career paths. Callan White, DDS, is the president of the North Carolina AGD.

The Whites explained the different pathways each took that led them to UNC School of Dentistry, where they met and fell in love.

They shared the importance of continuing education and being members of organized dentistry. Callan White shared, “My dental education just started when I graduated from dental school. Graduates need to humble themselves to understand that you will never stop learning.” Allison White, DDS, shared some patient treatment success stories and explained that these cases were success stories only because she continued to learn and grow as a dentist.
