The Oral Manifestations of Rare Diseases

Thousands of unique rare diseases are circulating within the U.S. population, and dentists may encounter a wide variety of oral manifestations when they have a patient with a rare disease. Signs and symptoms in the mouth of a rare disease can appear in many ways, including early tooth loss, loosening and drifting of teeth, soft tissue and bone lesions, spontaneous fractures, facial deformities, and gingival ulcers.
