This program will transition you from foundational concepts to advanced applications in endodontics. We’ll cover various obturation techniques, review recent literature shaping current practices and present real-life case studies. Highlighting BioSeal, the unique bioceramic sealer with time-released CHX and bioactive glass, we’ll explore its benefits for enhanced remineralization. Learning Objectives 

1. Understand fundamental concepts: Participants will articulate foundational principles of endodontics and their application to modern obturation techniques.

Speaker Bio  

Luis Camilo Yepes, DDS, FICD, earned his DDS in 1995, and then earned a certification in endodontics in 1999, from the Pontifical Xaverian University, Colombia. Yepes came to the United States in 2007 to complete a two-year general practice residency (GPR) program at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. In June 2009, he started a fellowship in endodontics and general dentistry at the University of Kentucky, where he worked as an instructor at the clinic and preclinic. Yepes joined the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry as an assistant clinical professor in 2012. In July 2015, he was appointed program director of the advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) program, and, in 2018, he became clinic director of the advanced general dentistry clinic at UT Health San Antonio. Yepes has maintained a position as a Commission on Dental Accreditation site visitor for AEGD and GPR programs since 2017. He was a recipient of the 2021 Presidential Award in the category of Clinical Excellence and earned a fellowship with the Institute for Diversity in Leadership with the American Dental Association. In 2024, Yepes moved to Charleston, South Carolina, as an associate professor, director of undergrad endodontics and interim division chief of emergencies services, section of endodontics, at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine. In addition to his academic responsibilities, he has been a member of the American Dental Education Association, on the board of trustees of the Hispanic Dental Association, president-elect of the Hispanic Dental Association and chief editor of the Journal of the Hispanic Dental Association.
