AGD leaders met in Washington, DC, recently to address legislative issues impacting dentistry and ways to protect oral health care. As part of the two-day event, about 30 general dentists representing AGD meet with lawmakers on legislative issues impacting their profession and how patient care is delivered to dental patients.

On May 16, 2024, the Senate HELP Committee held a hearing entitled, Examining the Dental Care Crisis in America: How Can We Make Dental Care More Affordable and More Available? The hearing examined the root causes of barriers to accessing adequate dental care including workforce shortages and student loan debt, and potential policy solutions to fill these gaps.

AGD will host the Fall Fellowship Review Course Oct. 4–5 at AGD headquarters in Chicago. Premium Plus members receive a 20% discount on the review course. In addition to earning 16 hours of CE, attendees will be able to take the Fellowship Exam the following day, Oct. 6.
