AGD has announced the winners of its Chapter and Faculty Advisor of the Year awards. The Chapter of the Year Award honored Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine. The Faculty Advisor of the Year Award honored Connie Tse-Wallerstein, DDS, MAGD, from the McGill University Faculty of Dentistry AGD Chapter in Montreal, Quebec.

AGD Region 1 has established a recognition award and scholarship in honor of the late June Warren Lee, DDS, MAGD, who passed away in 2010. Numerous dentistry organizations benefited from Lee’s volunteerism over the last 40 years, including AGD.

This year’s Convocation Ceremony was striking because of the number of spouses, siblings and family members who were honored together.

AGD2021, AGD’s annual scientific session, was held June 9–12 in Austin, Texas. The meeting was a hybrid event, which included in-person and virtual courses. Nearly 150 courses, including 52 sold-out courses, were presented to over 2,600 registrants.

During AGD2021, the AGD Foundation was able to provide oral cancer screenings to employees of the host hotel, Fairmont Austin, as well as to AGD2021 attendees. The Foundation raised over $22,000 through its electronic silent auction.
