Chapter and Faculty Advisors of the Year Announced

AGD has announced the winners of its Chapter and Faculty Advisor of the Year awards.

The AGD Chapter of the Year Award honors one AGD student chapter that provides its student membership with the best overall set of programs and activities. This year’s winner is the Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine. The chapter recruited 76 new members this year and sponsored five continuing education (CE) courses as well as one non-CE business course. The Western University AGD Chapter collaborated with the American Dental Education Association to host an end-of-year talent show to raise money for a local nonprofit. It also hosted a canned food drive and donated over 200 cans to a local food bank. 

The AGD Faculty Advisor of the Year Award honors one AGD student chapter faculty advisor who provides his or her AGD student chapter with the best overall support and guidance. This year’s winner is Connie Tse-Wallerstein, DDS, MAGD. Tse-Wallerstein has been instrumental in launching the McGill University Faculty of Dentistry AGD Chapter in Montreal, Quebec. One of the students who nominated her stated: “Without Tse-Wallerstein’s support, we would not have all the other dentists providing their diverse array of expertise and time to teach us extracurricular skills and technologies. It is thanks to her relentless energy, enthusiasm and passion to impart knowledge and wisdom that our chapter exists.”
