Capitol ConnectionIn a recent letter to National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) President Ron Bolden, AGD President Connie L. White, DDS, FAGD, urged NADP member plans to apply “forward-thinking measures” in their business practices to address dramatic changes in the delivery of dental services in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that impact patients and the dentists who provide their care. Specifically, due to the mandated dental practice closures, White asked that NADP members consider a rollover of any residual benefit from 2020 to 2021 and, for 2020, consider changing the periodic exam payment protocol from once every six months (or 181 days) to twice in the current contract calendar year. NADP is a trade association representing the full spectrum of dental benefit companies across the country.
