On June 15, AGD sent a letter to the leadership of key House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees, reiterating support for several funding priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. These priorities include funding for critical dental workforce and oral health-related programs, such as the Dental Faculty Loan Repayment Program, General Dentistry Residency programs, and HRSA’s oral health literacy awareness and education campaign.

Congressional leadership has announced that both the House and Senate will be working on Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 appropriations legislation throughout the end of June and in early July ahead of the August Congressional recess.

Impact on General Dentistry: The AGD regularly works with relevant appropriations subcommittees to safeguard government programs that improve the nation’s oral health and the practice of general dentistry.
