2022 NHSC Scholarship Program Now Accepting Applications
The 2022 National Health Service Corps Scholarship Program (NHSC SP) is now accepting applications from health professional students studying to become dentists, physicians, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and physician assistants.
The NHSC SP awards scholarships to students pursuing training in eligible primary care health professions. In return, scholars commit to providing primary care health services in health professional shortage areas (HPSAs) for a minimum of two years.
The Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) will hold virtual program question and answer sessions on April 13 and April 26 from 10am to 5pm ET.
Impact on General Dentistry: The NHSC SP helps connect dentists with employment in underserved communities and offers special loan repayment opportunities to program participants. The AGD voiced its strong support for the program to HRSA Administrator Carole Johnson in February.
