Recently, AGD Podcast Series host George J. Schmidt, DMD, FAGD, spoke with Maria Smith, DMD, MAGD, AGD Foundation president and AGD past president, about the recent programming and grant opportunities available through the AGD Foundation. 

Smith explained the Foundation's grant program, which provides $5,000 grants to organizations running oral cancer screening programs, and highlighted the importance of community-level initiatives. Oral cancer screenings and prevention programs are main focuses for the group, and Smith invited AGD members to register for an upcoming webinar series April 9 and 30. 

The AGD Foundation will be attending AGD2026, June 24–27, and Smith invites all listeners to stop by its booth to learn about the many ways the Foundation is working to support general dentists and address oral cancer.
