On Oct. 2, The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) released the consensus study report, Framework for Equitable Allocation of COVID-19 Vaccine. NASEM received over 1,400 comments during its four-day comment period. AGD responded to NASEM in September 2020 recommending that dentists receive priority in vaccine allocation and be allowed to vaccinate patients if they desire. In the final report, NASEM prioritized the first allocations of COVID-19 vaccinations to high-risk health workers, including dentists.
