AGD Installs New Officers at Annual Meeting
AGD installed new officers during its annual meeting, Nov. 14–16, in Chicago. Chethan Chetty, DDS, MAGD, a general dentist from California, concluded his term as president, and Marc J. Worob, DDS, FAGD, a general dentist from Texas, was installed as 2025–26 president.
Officers selected during the meeting included Kimberly R. Wright, DMD, MAGD, as vice president; Joseph Battaglia, DDS, FAGD, as secretary; and Robert M. Peskin, DDS, FAGD, as speaker of the house. Other members of the 2025–26 Executive Committee include: George J. Schmidt, DMD, FAGD, as president-elect; Joseph A. Picone, DMD, FAGD, as treasurer; and Timothy F. Kosinski, DDS, MAGD, as editor.
The regional election outcomes included the following selections:
- In Region 1, Sarita Patel, DDS, FAGD, is the regional director: Bettina D. Laidley, DMD, FAGD, is the trustee.
- In Region 2, Janice K. Pliszczak, DDS, MAGD, is the regional director; Seung-Hee Rhee, DDS, MAGD, is the trustee.
- In Region 3, Dejan Golaic, DDS, MAGD, is the regional director; Amanda S. Sonntag, DDS, MAGD, is the trustee.
- In Region 4, Aneta Wojcik, DDS, FAGD, is the regional director; Narpat S. Jain, DMD, MAGD, is the trustee.
- In Region 12, Erin Sexson, DDS, is the regional director; and Deidra Snell, DMD, is the trustee.
- In Region 18, Partha Mukherji, DDS, FAGD, is the regional director, and Jeffrey B. Geno. DDS, MAGD is the trustee.
Several AGD leaders were recognized during the meeting:
John W. Drumm, DMD, received the 2025 Mark S. Ritz Advocate for Dentistry Award. With a career spanning more than four decades, Drumm has demonstrated exceptional leadership and advocacy at every level of organized dentistry. His service includes roles as AGD Region 5 trustee and regional director, president of the D.C. AGD and D.C. Dental Society, and member of the American Dental Association (ADA) Council on Dental Practice. A retired U.S. Navy dental officer and private practitioner in Washington, D.C., Drumm’s lifelong commitment to advancing dentistry and supporting his colleagues continues to inspire.
The 2025 AGD Distinguished Service Award was presented to Bryan C. Edgar, DDS, MAGD, for his decades of exemplary leadership and dedication to advancing AGD’s mission. A longtime AGD and ADA member, Edgar has served nine years on the AGD Board, including six as speaker of the house and three as trustee from Region 11. His financial stewardship strengthened AGD’s investment reserves, ensuring organizational stability. A retired U.S. Army Colonel and respected practitioner from Federal Way, Washington, Edgar’s enduring service reflects a lifetime of commitment to the profession and his peers.
AGD presented the 2025 Humanitarian Award to T. Bob Davis, DMD, MAGD, of Dallas, Texas, for his nearly 50 years of tireless volunteer service. Since 1977, Davis has led more than 2,500 volunteers on student dental mission trips across Latin America, providing essential care and establishing lasting clinics in underserved communities. His humanitarian spirit extends locally through volunteer work, serving foster youth and individuals experiencing homelessness. A past Texas AGD president and accomplished musician, Davis exemplifies compassion, service and leadership in both dentistry and life.
