May Issue of AGD Impact Available Now
- by AGD Staff
- May 6, 2025
The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is pleased to announce the release of the May issue of AGD Impact, now accessible to members and subscribers. This edition has something for every dental professional: the general dentist, dental specialist, dental student, and office manager.
This month’s cover story, Navigating Implant Success with Photogrammetry, explores how integrating photogrammetry—a digital method for creating 3D models from 2D images—transforms implant dentistry. The new technology improves the accuracy of implant impressions and drastically reduces patient chair time by simplifying the final impression process. A self-instruction article accompanying the feature allows AGD members to earn 1 CE credit.
Additional highlights from the May issue include:
- Making Yourself Employable After Dental School
This article is a must-read for dental students. With graduation season underway, new dentists are entering a competitive job market. Exploring what hiring managers or practice owners are looking for in new dentists, this article offers practical insights from practice owners and hiring managers on what makes a new graduate stand out, from communication skills to clinical readiness and adaptability.
- AI and the Future of Dentistry
As artificial intelligence tools become more accessible, this feature highlights how AI reshapes patient care and practice operations. From personalized treatment planning to automated scheduling, AI tools are becoming affordable and helping even small practices compete at a higher level. The article also examines concerns about implementation, ethics, and data security.
- 3 Fast Ways to Increase Production in Your Practice
The Practice Management section offers timely strategies dental offices can use to boost productivity and profitability, such as revisiting fee structures, identifying overlooked treatment opportunities, and reducing patient no-shows.
- Testing the Tools with Dr. Ross Isbell
In this month’s product spotlight, Dr. Ross Isbell, DMD, MBA, reviews several top-tier restorative and digital dentistry tools. His picks include the Bioclear Matrix HD Anterior Kit, the Eye Special C-V camera from Shofu, and GC’s Fuji CEM Evolve, which earns high praise for its clinical performance.
