This course equips dental professionals with the skills needed to support parents. Dental professionals are uniquely positioned to detect early signs of feeding dysfunction, oral restrictions and growth delays. By identifying infant risk factors early, providers become trusted allies in lifelong health. Participants will learn how to identify common concerns in infants, recognize when referral or intervention is warranted, and deliver anticipatory guidance with empathy and clarity.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the importance of oral health during pregnancy.
  • Describe the impact of pregnancy on oral health and how to educate expectant mothers.
  • Discuss differences between types of infant feeding in relation to oral health.
  • Correlate the connections between feeding issues and oral habits with poor oral growth and development.
