The AGD Foundation is hosting a course Oct. 22 called “What Happens After Cancer? A Conversation Dentists Need to Hear.” This one-hour virtual webinar on supporting patients after oral, head and neck cancer treatment will feature Mai-Ly Duong, DMD, MPH, MAEd, MAGD.

The session will explore the long-term oral health effects of radiation, chemotherapy and surgery; the dentist’s role in oral cancer screening and early detection; and the emotional, functional and quality-of-life needs of survivors. Attendees will gain practical, patient-centered strategies to educate, motivate and support patients through prevention and long-term management of treatment-related oral complications.
