Description: This panel discussion will provide a comprehensive look at how COVID-19 has impacted general dentistry. Areas planned for discussion include how this pandemic has affected the dental assistant community, how our practices may be impacted by legal issues and the support that is being made available by AGD. It will also include updates on any government stimulus programs that may have become available. Larry Williams, DDS, MPH, MAGD, ABGD, will act as moderator. Connie L. White, DDS, FAGD, and Nancy Dewhirst, RDH, BS, will be on the panel. Future programs will be formulated to respond to additional issues from members.

Speaker Biography:

Connie L. White, DDS, FAGD, is president of the Academy of General Dentistry. She is a general dentist from Kansas City, Missouri, was named president and also an associate professor, interim dean for clinical programs, and assistant dean for community relations and communications at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.

Nancy Dewhirst, RDH, Adjunct dental hygiene professor at West Coast University.

Karen Comisi, CDA, RDA, FADAA, Board of Directors DANB since April 2015.

Norma Zeitler, JD, serves as outside labor and employment and litigation counsel to nonprofit, healthcare, hospitality and manufacturing clients.

Larry Williams, DDS, MPH, MAGD, ABGD, Associate professor at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine and retired from 30 years of service in the United States Navy Dental Corps.
