Taking the Fellowship Exam is one step toward earning the prestigious Fellowship Award (FAGD). Members can take the exam as early as their first year of active membership. The exam consists of 252 multiple-choice questions focusing on clinical applications of accepted dental knowledge, techniques, and procedures. The Fellowship Exam is offered as a paper-and-pencil test and is given in a four-hour session. A government-issued photo ID is required for entrance. Electronic devices, such as cell phones, PDAs, or computers, are not allowed and must be checked at the door before entering the exam room. Confidential test results are sent to each examinee approximately 6-8 weeks after the exam. Exam results are not given over the telephone or via email.
Cancellation of the Exam: The exam fee is refundable minus a $50 processing fee if the exam is canceled.
The Fellowship Exam fee is separate from the review course registration fee. To take the exam, you must include your dental license number and the state the license is held at the time of registration. Note: No CE credit hours are awarded for taking the exam.
