Course Description

This presentation will provide key highlights from different prosthodontic treatment procedures that affect treatment success and thereby aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.

Learning Objectives

• Identify the esthetic factors that aid in determining whether to retain a tooth or extract it and place an implant.
• Describe how to prevent post loosening and root fracture when posts and cores are placed in endodontically treated teeth.
• Discuss the types of clinical complications associated with single crowns, fixed partial dentures and all-ceramic crowns, and determine how the complications can be avoided or minimized.

Speaker Bio

Charles J. Goodacre, DDS, MSD, is a diplomate and past president of the American Board of Prosthodontics, the American College of Prosthodontists and the Academy of Prosthodontics. He is a founding member of the Foundation for Oral Rehabilitation (FOR) and chair of the FOR Education Council. He currently holds the title of Distinguished Professor and teaches in the Advanced Education Program in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University. He maintains a private practice devoted to prosthodontics and implant dentistry.
