In Florida, HB 683 was introduced by Representative Daniel Perez.  The bill seeks to authorize the licensure of dental therapists in the state, and allow them to perform numerous procedures under the general supervision of a dentist.  The bill is currently pending before the Florida House Health Quality Subcommittee.

Legislatures in 46 states will convene for sessions in 2018 (Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, and Texas convene in odd-numbered years).  For information on when your state legislature will be convening and adjourning, visit the National Conference of State Legislature’s (NCSL) 2018 State Session webpage.  For further information regarding critical legislative dates specific to your state, such as introduction or crossover deadlines, please contact AGD Government Relations.
