Course Description:

This course is designed to provide an overview of common lesions found in the oral cavity. Participants will learn about some of the most common lesions frequently encountered in general practice and understand how to formulate a proper treatment plan for their patients. Recurrent aphthous ulcerations, lichen planus, and lesions driven by human papillomavirus are among many which will be discussed. Audience participation is encouraged when discussing these common findings.

Learning Objectives
1. Compare leukoplakia with erythroplakia.
2. Discuss how to appropriately manage patients with potentially malignant disorders.
3. Determine when and where to refer patients.
4. Discuss how to decrease risk for of potentially malignant disorders to undergo malignant transformation.
