COVID-19 Safety Measures

AGD2021 Attendee Code of Behavior


As an attendee of AGD2021, I commit to the following:

Mask 2I will wear a mask at all times while inside the Austin Convention Center (ACC) and hotel common areas of the Fairmont, Marriott and/or Hilton.
No Hand-ShakingI will refrain from shaking hands, and I will maintain a six-foot social distance from other attendees. 
COVID-19 (1)

By registering to attend AGD2021, I have committed to hold all AGD parties harmless and to follow COVID-19 precautions and guidelines set forth by AGD.  

  • I have not tested positive for COVID-19.
    UNLESS I have been symptom- and fever-free for at least 72 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine AND at least 14 days have passed since I received a positive test result.
  • I am not experiencing (and have not experienced) one or more symptoms associated with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, including: shortness of breath, cough, fever, chills, sore throat and loss of smell.
  • I neither live with nor have I had close contact with someone who has a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19.
    UNLESS at least 14 days have passed since my last exposure.
  • I am not currently under home quarantine or centralized observation by government or healthcare authorities. 
    UNLESS I have complied with all mandated requirements and have been subsequently cleared from mandated quarantine or centralized observation by the authority.
No GatheringI will use one of three designated entrances to the ACC: Cesar Chavez St. (southwest corner), Fairmont Skyway (southeast corner) or the Hilton Skyway (north side). I understand that all other doors will be locked, and security staff will direct attendees to one of the three designated entrances.
Covid ShieldIf I refuse to wear a mask while attending AGD2021, I understand that I will be asked to leave the meeting. 
Covid GlobeI will familiarize myself with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines on domestic travel, Domestic Travel During COVID-19.


AGD’s Duty of Care Commitment

In addition to the Austin Convention Center’s (ACC) Safety Action Plan and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations at, AGD has developed the following safety guidelines that will be communicated to all attendees, vendors and staff involved in AGD2021, June 9–12, 2021, at the convention center.

Mask 2

Attendees, staff and vendors will always be required to wear face masks. AGD will provide a mask if an individual arrives to the meeting without one.

Temperature CheckTemperature checks will be taken by way of ACC thermal scanners at all three designated entrances to the ACC. If an attendee registers above 100.4 degrees, he or she will be asked to return to his or her sleeping room.
No GatheringNo on-site course or meeting registration will be permitted due to limited course capacities. 
6-FeetIn accordance with the Austin Department of Health’s guidelines, all meeting spaces will be seated at 25% capacity. Socially distanced seating will be provided in courses. AGD will seat one attendee per table in hands-on workshops, and the seating for theater-style lectures will be socially distanced per the current CDC guideline at the time of the meeting.
Enhanced CleaningTouchless registration check-in will be provided. Attendees will scan their barcodes and receive name badges hands-free. Kiosks will be cleaned regularly by registration staff. 
Hand Sanitizer

AGD will work with the ACC to provide enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols:

  • Course tables and high-touch points will be cleaned and sanitized after each group of morning sessions (approximately 11:30 a.m.) and after each afternoon session (approximately 4 p.m.).
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers, disinfecting wipes and gloves will be provided to the speakers in each classroom.
  • AGD will provide attendees hand sanitizer in hallways and major thoroughfares and outside each classroom. Disposable gloves will be provided in all hands-on courses per standard AGD practice. 
Covid ShieldSafety measure signage will be posted throughout the building reminding attendees to socially distance and wash hands.
