COVID-19 Safety Measures
AGD2021 Attendee Code of Behavior
As an attendee of AGD2021, I commit to the following:
I will wear a mask at all times while inside the Austin Convention Center (ACC) and hotel common areas of the Fairmont, Marriott and/or Hilton.
I will refrain from shaking hands, and I will maintain a six-foot social distance from other attendees.
By registering to attend AGD2021, I have committed to hold all AGD parties harmless and to follow COVID-19 precautions and guidelines set forth by AGD.
I will use one of three designated entrances to the ACC: Cesar Chavez St. (southwest corner), Fairmont Skyway (southeast corner) or the Hilton Skyway (north side). I understand that all other doors will be locked, and security staff will direct attendees to one of the three designated entrances.
If I refuse to wear a mask while attending AGD2021, I understand that I will be asked to leave the meeting.
I will familiarize myself with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines on domestic travel, Domestic Travel During COVID-19.
AGD’s Duty of Care Commitment
In addition to the Austin Convention Center’s (ACC) Safety Action Plan and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations at CDC.gov, AGD has developed the following safety guidelines that will be communicated to all attendees, vendors and staff involved in AGD2021, June 9–12, 2021, at the convention center.
Attendees, staff and vendors will always be required to wear face masks. AGD will provide a mask if an individual arrives to the meeting without one.
Temperature checks will be taken by way of ACC thermal scanners at all three designated entrances to the ACC. If an attendee registers above 100.4 degrees, he or she will be asked to return to his or her sleeping room.
No on-site course or meeting registration will be permitted due to limited course capacities.
In accordance with the Austin Department of Health’s guidelines, all meeting spaces will be seated at 25% capacity. Socially distanced seating will be provided in courses. AGD will seat one attendee per table in hands-on workshops, and the seating for theater-style lectures will be socially distanced per the current CDC guideline at the time of the meeting.
Touchless registration check-in will be provided. Attendees will scan their barcodes and receive name badges hands-free. Kiosks will be cleaned regularly by registration staff.
AGD will work with the ACC to provide enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols:
Safety measure signage will be posted throughout the building reminding attendees to socially distance and wash hands.
