So, you’ve never been to the Scientific Session before? You’re not alone. There will be hundreds of attendees, just like you, making their ways through the aisles for the first time. Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. If you’re like me, you may find yourself doing the tried and true “lap.” This solo walk allows us to warm up to the environment, take inventory of what’s where and who’s who, and select a few things to circle back to later. Maybe if we’re lucky, we’ll see a familiar face and chit chat with new people along the way. But basically, we’re winging it. Sound familiar to anyone?

For students and new dentists there will be the opportunity to get paired up with an AGD member mentor dentist who has been through it all before. AGD has designed a Mentorship Event in the New Dentist Lounge that takes place on Thursday, June 7, from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Your mentor can guide you to areas of the event and introduce you to people you may have missed otherwise, providing valuable insight that can help you have a successful time at the conference. If you’re interested in having a mentor while at the Scientific Session, you can sign up online in advance to reserve your spot.*

By the time you leave AGD2018 you’ll have received more than just an education, you’ll have made more friends who care about your future and will be there to walk many laps with you in the years to come!
