Postdoctoral Programs

At the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), our members never stop learning! Take the first step toward lifelong learning after you graduate by pursuing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) or General Practice Residency (GPR) program. In addition to advancing your dental education, you’ll also be enhancing the quality of patient care and helping to strengthen the general dentistry profession.

There are plenty more advantages to enrolling in a postdoctoral program, such as receiving an immediate salary to help you pay off your student loans more quickly, building a more competitive résumé, and networking with other dental professionals in your area. Most importantly, you’ll gain the valuable experience and credibility you need to succeed as a new dentist.

Speaking of credibility, boost yours even more and distinguish yourself through quality continuing education (CE) by pursuing the AGD Fellowship Award (FAGD). There’s no reason not to when you can get a head start simply by completing a postdoctoral residency program! The AGD will award you up to 150 CE credit hours toward your FAGD upon completing a one-year, Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited AEGD or GPR program or up to 300 hours toward your Fellowship upon completing a two-year program.

Use the drop-down menus below to search for an accredited AEGD or GPR program in your area, and be sure to contact local constituents to learn if any programs are being run by AGD members.
