AGD House of Delegates

Meeting Highlights:

Fares M. Elias, DDS, JD, FAGD, was installed as president of the Academy of General Dentistry on July 8, 2010. Dr. Elias’ inaugural address was progressive and inspirational. Watch Dr. Elias’ Inaugural Address. Read Dr. Elias’ Inaugural Address.
On July 6, David F. Halpern, DMD, FAGD, concluded his year as AGD president with motivating remarks about the new strategic plan, leadership engagement, and more. Watch Dr. Halpern’s speech. Read Dr. Halpern’s speech.

In addition, Dr. Halpern presented a brief slideshow thanking leaders that had passed away throughout the year. View the memoriam presentation by Dr. Halpern.
The AGD House of Delegates elected and installed a new executive committee. Read about each of the members of the executive committee.

The AGD/AGD Foundation Outreach Project—A Success!

On July 8, 2010, the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the AGD Foundation  teamed up with the Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Dentistry to hold its first annual outreach project, Nation of Smiles, One Smile at a Time. The event provided underserved residents of New Orleans, La., with free dental care. The AGD’s Public Relations Department secured a TV news segment regarding the event that aired on WWL-TV (CBS New Orleans)!

The AGD opened its 58th Annual Meeting & Exhibits by welcoming attendees to the Exhibit Hall. Read about the Welcome Reception.
