Dr. Pierre Cartier has been providing comprehensive general dental care to the DC Metropolitan Area for over 5 years. An alumnus of Centre College (BA - 2000), the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (DMD - 2005), and the 579th Medical Group (Bolling AFB) Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency (Certificate - 2006), Dr. Cartier strives for excellence in the dental arts and sciences and emphasizes a holistic, contemporary, evidence-based approach to dental care within his practice. Dr. Cartier's end-objectives for your oral health are as follows: An oral cavity free of tooth decay, inflammation, and hard and soft tissue pathology. An absence of orofacial pain and minimal degree of biomechanical dysfunction. Patient satisfaction with the appearance (or aesthetics) of his or her teeth. Greater personal understanding of the importance of recommended dental care and self-directed homecare in achieving optimal oral, general, and psychological health for a lifetime!
Dr. Cartier will work with a patient to educate him/her about potential oral health issues that he/she may have, as well as the appropriate solutions to prevent those conditions from impacting the patient's quality-of-life. Extramurally, Dr. Cartier is involved in numerous activities within academic, dental, civic, and cultural organizations. Dr. Cartier has served as a guest lecturer at the National Institutes of Health and presented lectures regarding the topics of "Bone Regeneration" and "Regenerative Biology in Dentistry" for students of the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences ( www.faes.org). Additionally, he is actively involved in organized dentistry and holds membership in the American Dental Association (ADA), Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Society, Maimonides Dental Society of Metropolitan Washington, Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and American Academy of Oral Medicine. Dr. Cartier actively pursues dental continuing education to stay abreast of contemporary modalities and earned Fellowship designation from the AGD in July of 2009. Culturally, he is actively involved in the local arts community, including the young professional societies of the Corcoran Museum and Phillips Collection, as well as International Arts and Artists.
