GOVERNMENT RELATIONS CONFERENCE
 The AGD held its third annual government relations conference A Great Dentist Goes to
Washington on March 9-10, 2009 in Washington, DC with nearly 60 attendees from across
the nation.
Nearly 110 Hill visits were accomplished with several members having meetings where the
Congressman or Senator attended in person! Two main issues were this year’s focus for Hill
visits: funding for Title VII Health Professions Programs and dentistry’s role in the upcoming
health care reform discussions. Additionally mentioned was the AGD’s support of two pieces
of legislation introduced in the 111th Congress, the Dental Emergency Responder Act and the
Meth Mouth Prevention and Community Recovery Act.
