Speaker Biographies

Larry N. Williams, DDS, MAGD, ABGD (military dentistry), graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1982. He recently retired from 30 years of service in the United States Navy Dental Corps, where highlights of his career included serving as Navy Region Midwest Public Health Emergency Officer, development of the National Action Plan for Tobacco Cessation, and creation of the Affordable Care Act’s National Prevention Strategy. He currently serves as an assistant professor at the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine – Illinois. He is a member of the American Dental Association and AGD and holds board certified status in the American Board of General Dentistry.

Robert Margolin, DDS, FAGD, FACD (hospital and prison dentistry), is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He served on multiple AGD councils, including Dental Education, Dental Practice, Communications and Public Information. He has served as a delegate to both the American Dental Association and AGD House of Delegates. He is a Fellow of AGD, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. Margolin was president for the Bronx County Dental Society in 2007 and 2008. He was a member of the Board of Governors and the Board of Trustees of the New York State Dental Association. On the constituency level, he served as president of the New York State AGD from 2003 to 2004. He was also the editor for eight years and won the ACE Award of Excellence for the NYSAGD Journal. In 2011, he received the Meritorious Service Award from the New York State AGD. He worked in private practice in the Bronx for 18 years. He worked at Rikers Island Health for 12 years, seven of which he spent as dental chief. He was general practice residency (GPR) director at St. Barnabas Hospital for 15 years and is currently the director of the GPR program at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.

Fabiola Milord, DDS, MPH, FAGD, FACD (dental education/academia), obtained a Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD). She completed her general practice residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center and a dental oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She went on to earn a master’s degree in public health at New York University’s College of Global Public Health. She currently holds the position of clinical assistant professor at NYUCD. Milord maintains a private practice in New Hyde Park, New York. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including NYUCD’s Faculty Council Outstanding Teaching Award, the Nassau County Dental Society Humanitarian Award, and a Doctor of Humane Letters from Adelphi University. In her spare time, she enjoys fitness as well as spending time with family and friends.

Seonha Park, DMD, FAGD (corporate dentistry), obtained her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her DMD from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Since then, she has worked in various states (Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey) and different dental practices serving a wide range of populations. Currently, she is a general dentist in Manhattan. She is truly passionate about dentistry and values relationships. In her leisure time, she enjoys anything outdoors.

Eugenio D. Beltrán-Aguilar, DMD, MPH, MS, DrPH, DABDPH (global dentistry), graduated as a dental surgeon and stomatologist from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. He earned a master's degree in dental public health, a master's degree in pediatric dentistry, and a doctoral degree in epidemiology at the University of Michigan. In 1999, he was certified as a dental public health specialist by the American Board of Dental Public Health. Beltrán-Aguilar has been an epidemiologist and assistant director in the Division of Oral Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. He has also been director of the American Dental Association (ADA) Council on Scientific Affairs and director, president and executive director of the American Board of Dental Public Health. Beltrán-Aguilar has held professional positions at the International Association for Research in Dentistry, the American Association of Public Dental Health, and several international development committees at the ADA. For more than 25 years, he has provided technical assistance to the Regional Oral Health Program of the Pan American Health Organization and its country members and participated in implementing three W. K. Kellogg grants promoting fluoridation. Beltrán-Aguilar is currently a professor in the Department of Epidemiology at NYU and Temple University. In addition, he is director and professor of the master's program in dental public health at the University of Medical Sciences in Laos and co-director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Quality-improvement, Evidence-based Dentistry at NYU.

Ann Salamone, DDS (former chief of staff, New York Hotel Trades Council Health Center Inc.), graduated from The University of Michigan Dental School in 1992. Afterward, she practiced general dentistry in New York City at private practices and at the New York Hotel Trades Council Health Center Inc. (NYHTC-HCI), an organization providing comprehensive health and welfare benefits to hotel union members. In 2001, Salamone was promoted to dental director of the NYHTC-HCI midtown location, and, in 2010, she was appointed dental chief of staff. During her 10-year tenure in this role, she also served as co-chairperson of the Infection Control, Quality Assurance and Regulatory committees. Salamone joined the faculty of the New York University College of Dentistry as a clinical instructor in the Department of Cariology and Comprehensive Care in June 2021.

Mai-Ly Duong, DMD, MPH, MAEd, MAGD, FSCD, FACD, FICD, FPFA (moderator), received her DMD and MPH with dental emphasis from A.T. Still University and an MAEd with a dental emphasis from the University of the Pacific. She serves as a full-time associate professor at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in The Center for Advanced Oral Health. She works to support students, residents and faculty treating individuals with special needs and complex medical conditions. She also works as a part-time associate dentist at Sundance Dental Care. Her many accomplishments and contributions to the dental profession have earned her recognition as a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) as well as fellowships in the Special Care Dentistry Association, the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
