Aloha!  Welcome to the Army AGD webpage.  We have a lot of good news to report! 

We had a fabulous meeting recently in Baltimore where we thanked COL Jamie Houston for his years of service as our Constituent President, COL Dan Lavin for his service as our Constituent Secretary, and MAJ Joe Seiler for his service as our Constituent Treasurer.  The time and energy they dedicated have improved our organization and set us up for further success.  They all will remain very visible within the Constituent for which we are grateful.

We welcomed LTC David Schlenker as our new Treasurer and CPT Erik Reifenstahl as our new Secretary.  Having been tasked with running the Federal Services Social and the Fellowship Review Course at next year’s meeting, as well as being challenged with repeating as Constituent of the Year for another year, these two already have an ambitious agenda ahead of them!!  I am confident they are the right people for the jobs and we’ll have a terrific meeting again next year.

Yes, the Army did win Constituent of the Year again this year thanks to the tremendous effort by COL Dan Lavin and Ms. Pamila Richter putting together a packet reflecting all that you do every day.  You also brought home the Public Information Award, the Communications Award, the Membership Award, and honorable mention for the Continuing Education Award.  Congratulations and thank you for all you do!!

We had a strong showing at the Convocation Ceremony! Most impressive was COL Robert Manga receiving the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award while Dr. Young Kang, Dr. Dianne Pannes, and Dr. Albert Scott received the Masters Award and Dr. Cynthia Feleppa, Dr. Johnn Griffith, and Dr. Georgios Vessiropoulos received the Fellowship Award. 

The Fellowship Review Course was as outstanding as ever and we send a big thank you to the Air Force for coordinating it.  A special thanks to COL Dan Lavin, COL Walt Rongey, LTC Dianne Pannes, and CPT Nathan Parrish for presenting several lectures as part of the course.

Of course, no Army event is complete without a good run!  COL Jamie Houston put together an all-star team for the AGD/Special Olympics 5K Fun Run and we won the team competition!  Dr. Steven Perlman, cofounder of the Special Olympics Special Smiles, was on hand with some super Special Olympics Athletes to welcome and motivate us.
