Constituent Leadership Resources
The AGD supports its constituent leaders in carrying out local activities by providing a variety of resources. Below are helpful reference materials, tools, and reports that are of use to constituent leaders. For additional constituent leader resources and administration, visit the Constituent Leader Services and Constituent Administration sections of AGD Constituents as well as the Education section of the AGD Web site.

Constituent Leader Services
This section contains information about services available to constituent leaders provided by AGD Headquarters. Whether you are a new or seasoned AGD constituent leader, the Constituent Leader Services section contains valuable information to assist in all areas of constituent activity.

Constituent Administration
This section provides an outline of constituent activities that should occur in each constituent. It is understood that constituents differ in size, sophistication of activities, and available workforce. However, all of these activities should be in the goals of each constituent as they respond to their members identified needs.

Planning Constituent CDE Programs and Special Events MS Word
Constituent meetings, CDE courses, and special events should be carefully researched and planned. Effective programming is one of the most important ingredients in the success of a constituent and its service to members. The attached document gives step-by-step instructions on putting on a successful event including pre-planning considerations, budget, program planning timeframe, meeting site selection, negotiation tips, course planning, selecting speakers, program marketing, onsite management, registration, wrap up, record-keeping, and program history.

AGD Speaker’s Bureau
Does your constituent find it difficult to hire affordable, quality speakers to conduct CE courses? Are you frustrated with the high honoraria costs of speakers? If so, the AGD has an exciting program specifically developed to assist constituents with finding top name speakers at an affordable, set speaking rate.

AGD CE Scanners MS Word
AGD constituents and PACE providers can purchase scanners to simplify recording and submitting CE to the AGD. The scanning solution utilizes a “Flic” scanner—a basic scanner that can hold up to 500 scans at any given time. This method provides constituents and PACE providers with a solution that is easy-to-use and cost-effective. Instructions on use and computer specifications are included with the scanner when it is mailed.

Fellowship and FellowTrack
Fellowship was created to recognize the achievements of AGD members who clearly recognize the professional obligation to remain current in their profession and to create an example so that each member of the dental profession never loses sight of this obligation. Achieving the designation of Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) tells colleagues and patients of the member’s commitment to lifelong learning and quality patient care.

Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition (LLSR)
Lifelong Learning & Service Recognition (LLSR) was created to recognize the continued achievements of AGD Masters who clearly recognize the professional obligation to remain current in their profession.

Mastership and MasterTrack
Mastership is the highest AGD honor. Achieving Mastership reflects a general dentist’s ongoing commitment to provide quality care through continuing education. A MasterTrack is a series of courses put together by an AGD constituent, component, or dental school specifically to help a member attain Mastership in the AGD. These programs usually allow the member to gain their Mastership more quickly than they would be able to on their own. They also foster camaraderie among the participants, which is a large part of the culture of the AGD itself.

Although the AGD dictates what requirements must be met in order to attain Mastership, it does not dictate how the program itself is organized and run.

AGD and Hufford Financial Advisors, LLC Alliance
This program establishes a new standard and approach for financial education in dentistry. It incorporates financial planning leadership—not just teaching and lecturing. The program will empower general dentists to identify their financial strengths and weaknesses in a manner that will lead them to building a fiscally responsible practice and a sound, systematic approach to their financial lives over a period of 12 to 18 months. Taught by a Hufford presenter and facilitated by a trained AGD member dentist, the program combines equal parts of lecture and hands-on exercises and application of principles. There will also be a periodic follow-up component throughout the program that will ensure dentists take action and implement strategies that will improve their financial lives.

AGD and P&G Partnership
The AGD has partnered with Procter and Gamble (P&G) on an exciting new speaker program for AGD constituents. The program fully funds highly respected speakers in continuing dental education for regional or local engagements. For more information, please contact Megan Mitchell at megan.mitchell@agd.org.

Please be mindful that these resources are provided for AGD constituent use only.
