A grant of $3,000 was awarded to the Texas AGD to host a booth at the Lance Armstrong Foundation Health and Sports Expo. The Texas AGD’s goal was to conduct oral cancer screenings and increase public and professional awareness of oral health and the oral complications of cancer therapy.
A grant of $13,165 was awarded to the Aging Research Institute to launch an intensive hands-on continuing education program in nursing home dentistry for professionals in the state of Kansas and surrounding areas.
The Northwest Medical Teams Mobile Dental Care Program, “Welcome Baby Teeth,” was awarded a grant of $5,000 to provide a continuing education course on the management of the young child in the dental office, and to provide educational outreach materials regarding the prevention of early childhood caries in the form of patient brochures, educational videos, a built-in mail-back evaluation postcard, evaluation tools, and personal contact with dental providers.
The AGD was awarded two grants, $10,000 and $12,287.51, respectively, to fund the first and second meetings of the Oral Health Literacy Taskforce.
The AGD Foundation was incorporated in 1972, in the state of Illinois, and is exempt under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, as a vehicle to accept tax deductible contributions for the purpose of supporting charitable and education programs. |
