AGD Foundation FAQs

What is the AGD Foundation?

The AGD Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the AGD. It focuses on raising funds to support oral health programs that help the underserved and provides members, exhibitors, and corporate alliance partners with opportunities to contribute their expertise and resources to make a lasting financial and social impact.

Why is it important for the AGD to have a foundation?

While the AGD focuses on serving members’ current needs and issues, the AGD Foundation’s efforts are primarily geared toward fundraising activities that involve members in providing quality dental care to the underserved. AGD Foundation initiatives instill member pride and expand public awareness by making it possible for members to provide their expertise in a meaningful, philanthropic way.

How exactly will the AGD Foundation make a difference?

The AGD Foundation will continue to increase recognition among the public and the dental profession about the role of the general dentist as the primary oral health caregiver and provider of dental treatment. In addition, the AGD Foundation will continue to support programs that provide access to dental care and oral health literacy for underserved populations.

What exactly will the AGD Foundation do with donations?

Essentially, every aspect of growth and outreach depends on donations. Contributions will support outreach programs that offer dental care and oral health literacy to underserved populations. Philanthropy is essential to the AGD Foundation.

What else should I know about the AGD Foundation?

Established in 1972, the AGD Foundation has a long history of supporting both continuing education opportunities for general dentists and projects intended to benefit the public, ranging from oral cancer screenings to nursing home dentistry to the prevention of early childhood cavities.

Why should I support the AGD Foundation?

Other organizations are looking for cures. The AGD Foundation already has the cure: providing dental care and oral health literacy. The  key element is you—your intellect, skills, talent, and resources. Your involvement is the key to progress.
