  1. Increase external marketing
  2. Increase the advocacy for issues of interest to general dentists to legislators, regulators, and third party payers
  3. Increase recognition by the public and the dental profession that the role of the general dentist is the primary oral health caregiver and coordinator of dental treatment
  4. Enhance the value of membership
  5. Establish an annual meeting as the premiere continuing education venue for the general dental community
  6. Increase the number of members through recruitment and retention
  7. Enhance leadership development to increase the pool of capable leaders prepared to serve at all levels
  8. AGD will become the “go-to” organization on general practitioner-related issues
  9. Decrease the cost of governance
  10. Promote a distinctive and consistent brand identity for AGD
