The Academy of General Dentistry’s (AGD) membership benefits cover all of the areas necessary to build and maintain a successful dental career. From continuing education to advocacy to connecting you with others in your field, the AGD does everything it can for the general dentist.

Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning
We offer our members continuing education (CE) opportunities locally, online, and at our annual meetings. Start working toward the prestigious Fellowship (FAGD) and Mastership (MAGD) awards, the only achievement-based awards in general dentistry. We also track your progress toward the FAGD or MAGD with the AGD Award Transcript. AGD membership can help you maintain the education level necessary for quality patient care throughout your dental career.

AGD State Board Transcript
This valuable feature is customized to your state board requirements, and tracks your CE credits toward relicensure. View the credits you’ve earned and the ones you are missing simply by clicking on the “My CE” tab at the top of the page. Most states accept the AGD state transcript as proof of CE for relicensure. Find out the status of your state.

Advocacy and Representation
The AGD strives to represent and protect the interests of general dentists and improve the quality of comprehensive dental services, health promotion, and wellness. Members and the public can get involved in advocacy efforts with the interactive tool Capwiz. We also offer insurance contract analysis to members in order to assess the terms and ramifications of insurance contracts.

Publication
Subscriptions to the AGD’s publications General Dentistry and AGD Impact are included with your membership. AGD Impact will keep you up-to-date with all the current news in general dentistry, and our scientific journal, General Dentistry, will inform you of all the latest advancements in your field.   

AGD Annual Meeting & Exhibits
Visit the annual meeting section of the AGD Web site for information on the AGD Annual Meeting & Exhibits. This section also features registration information, course listings, more attractions, and information about future AGD annual meetings!

AGD Benefits Plus

Membership Directory
Use the Membership Directory to locate other AGD members. Search for members using a variety of parameters. This is useful when patients are moving out of your area so that you can refer them to another AGD member!

AGD Career Center
Post your Curriculum Vitae or résumé and search for job opportunities, or post your job opening and search for the right applicant on the AGD Career Center. Visit the Career Center tab at the top of the page for more information.

Web Tools
Let the AGD help you attract new members and provide public information with your Web site. We offer e-mail forwarding with an AGD e-mail address, the Member Web Page Builder, and even AGD wallpaper to help you show off your AGD membership and commitment to quality patient care.

Public Information
The AGD works to keep the public informed of where to find the best dental care and of important dental issues. Find-a-Dentist, our patient-referral service that appears online and at 877.2X.A.YEAR, refers patients to dentists in their area. We have also launched a dry mouth campaign and provide information on a variety of topics through our fact sheets and Dentalnotes subscriptions.

Find a Speaker
If you need to find a speaker for an upcoming event or to learn about the instructor of a course you are attending, the AGD has several resources to assist you. Now you can book a speaker through the AGD’s Speaker’s Bureau or find information about a speaker by searching our Speaker Evaluation Database.
