On July 28, 2011, Howard R. Gamble, DMD, FAGD, was installed as president of the Academy of General Dentistry during the AGD 2011 Annual Meeting & Exhibits, held July 28 to 31 in San Diego, Calif. Dr. Gamble’s inaugural address was honest, thought-provoking, and inspirational.

“We cannot ignore the past, we cannot change the past, but the future is ours to mold. The future is ours to develop. The future is ours in which to create our dreams,” Dr. Gamble said.

Dr. Gamble highlighted key areas upon which he will focus during his term as president, including increasing membership. “In order for us to succeed in truly being the recognized voice of the general dentist, we simply must accumulate a majority of the general dentist market share.”
